I don’t have time to be good…

I don’t have time to be good…

Can I ask you something?

What are some of the things that immediately came  to mind when you read the subject line of this message?
When I personally hear people say they don’t have time to do something to better themselves, I can’t help but think….

How cute!!!

This happens most commonly in our society when people try and justify why they’re not getting to the gym, why they can’t seem to ever eat healthy for more than 2 days at a time, or seemingly just about any other scenario as it pertains to bettering one’s life in some fashion.

How convenient that so many don’t have the time for any of that, yet always find the time to sleep, watch tv, play video games, go out and meet friends for drinks, and play around on social media all day.

Contrary to popular belief, you, I, and the other 7.4 billion people on planet earth both have the identical number of seconds, minutes, and hours in a day that the following pop culture phenoms:

– Mark Cuban
– Lebron James
– Jay Z and Beyoncé
– Oprah
– Warren Buffett
– The Rock

What those names all have in common is not only the fact that they’ve experienced success at the highest level in their respective fields, but moreover, they’ve all mastered the art of time management and prioritization.
Today I want to share with you some interesting statistics to help shed some light on how the average American spends their time.

Let me start off by pointing out that if you’re reading this right now, you absolutely have the time.  The average person spends 1 hour and 40 minutes everyday mindlessly scrolling through their social media newsfeed.
That’s a fact.

But so many of us just can’t find the time to work on that 1 “thing” we know we should be working on….
Whatever that “thing” is for you, I say we come to a compromise here shall we?
What if we didn’t change a thing about your schedule? Meaning you can still do any of the following if it in fact applies to you:

•Play Call of Duty or whatever video game, 5 nights a week. In fact, 42%  of Americans “game” for at least 3 hours per week.

• Watch TV 33 hours a week like the average adult.

• Sleep 8.8 hours every night the way the average American 15 years of age and older does.

What if instead, the only thing we changed was shaving off 45 minutes a day of mindless scrolling thru news feeds, liking everything our favorite celebs post, or fellas, leaving inappropriate comments, sending creepy messages, and “liking” every photo you come across from a good looking female, and instead, invest that time reading, at the gym, planning out your meals for the next day, or giving something back within our community?

Keep  in mind you’ll still have  55 minutes on social media to do all the other stuff mentioned!!!

If you want to win, you have to do the stuff winners do. You have to be able to do more in less time, and compromise a little bit of sleep, tv, or any other number of unproductive things in order to get the results you want.

The reality is nobody has the time. You make the time for what you value most and deem a priority. Not to speak out of turn here, but your body, health, confidence, and overall quality of life needs to be in that conversation.

If it’s not, sooner than later you’ll have no choice but to find the time to be fat, sick, depressed, broke, and miserable.

That choice my friends is up to you and you alone.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read this and for your ongoing support.

If this message resonates with just a single individual, I would feel like I’ve won.
Kill it every day,
